I was very pleasantly surprised as it was a spontaneous story. A good friend made us aware of it and it was despite the necessary * corona * pre-order. It was a great time. The food was perfect and not a long wait (we were 6 people) and almost every other table in the guest room, which offers a lot of space to other guests, was always well attended after a short time. That clearly showed me that this restaurant is a place of return, not only for us but also for others. Great service, good food and a good feeling of the cozy atmosphere in this humble Corona time. Thumbs up and again anytime.

The Jägerhaus has been a top address for excellent cuisine in the region for decades. Today we again ate a great hunting pheasant with cranberries and dumplings. At a price of 16.90 euros you can't complain. The pork schnitzel and the farmer's breakfast were also highly praised. The service was friendly and very flowing, full star rating! The house should definitely continue to run in two years after the current operators retire, but they find it difficult to find just one temporary worker ...

Last week three of us had lunch, the food was tasty and to our satisfaction, especially the roast venison. So we went there again this week to eat delicious food, unfortunately a failure, the total opposite. The roast venison was not only smaller in terms of portion size, it was also very streaky and tough. He was also almost cold. In response to my criticism, I was not treated like the king of the customer but rather like Mr. Wrong. No idea what it was and why it was so different, maybe a different cook? The waitress was also not the young nice one like last week, more an older model who couldn't even say thank you for a tip, which you gave for the sake of decency, although it was We didn't actually deserve coffee and ice cream on the second visit because we didn't feel like patronizing instead of insight.

The impression "oh God, 5 more customers" was unmistakable. We were able to express the drink request after 20 minutes. There was nothing wrong with the food, not a *** level, but absolutely appropriate for the very moderate price. The trout, for example, was excepted very clean, the fried potatoes unfortunately a bit oily. For dessert, ask yourself beforehand where the amazingly low prices come from. A pina colada for € 4 tasted (and looked like) like a pina colada for € 2. The cocktails of the other guests also fell into this category. The surroundings are of course fantastic, that hasn't changed. With longing, we think back to a service employee with a lot of rings hung on all kinds of body parts. That looked just as unusual as the service was handled in a fast and really easy to deal with.

The hunting lodge at the Streitwald is always well visited. This is mainly because the food is freshly prepared and really delicious. If you are looking for home-style cuisine, this is the place for you. Smaller groups should call a few days in advance and book a table. Of course, you can arrange your family celebrations here by appointment. In good weather you can sit outside in the middle of nature. The hosts are friendly and the service attentive. A little wait you have to plan, as I said the food is fresh. When everyone is full you can go for a walk on site or in the surrounding area.
